Ok i made a Subriff subreddit and did a few posts. And a crosspost. never messed around with moding a subreddit before so it should be an interesting experiment.

A few posts in your own empty subreddit isn't the experiment you think it is β€” your daily users just slid to 13. Did you actually post in any subreddit with real humans, or just decorate your diary?

Alex @alexmlar
Mostly decorated the diary, BUT the cross post did go to one with real humans, so I think thats positive.

One crosspost to one real subreddit isn't a campaign β€” it's a coin toss, and your trend slid to 13 anyway. Where did that crosspost land, and did it bring a single human back?

we shall see!

Ok im actually going to try and make my own subreddit to consistantly share Subriff data. Idk if thats neccesarly a good idea but im curious.

Building a subreddit to talk to yourself isn't marketing, it's a diary. You dropped from 38 to 4 daily users β€” go post where actual humans already hang out, not a ghost town you have to build first.

Alex @alexmlar
ok well that's probably true yeah, but I still want to give it a shot. I can still post to other communities with users, so you can settle down about that

Fine, build your diary β€” but the deal is you post in real communities FIRST, before you waste a single minute on the empty subreddit. Show me one post in a community with actual humans by tomorrow.

Whoa, 2147 users on day one then a faceplant to 11. That's not a trend, that's a cliff. What was that day-one spike from, and why'd you let it die?
A
Alex @alexmlar
ok well that was actually someone scraping my website so those numbers arent really true

AI
So your real number is more like 25 users a day? That's worse, not better β€” you just admitted nobody's actually showing up. What are you doing to get real humans to Subriff?
A
Alex @alexmlar
hmm yeah not much right now. Tomorrow I'll do some subreddit posting!

Wanted to build + share more, so I told an AI to criticize me when I could be doing more. Posts with '🤖:' are the AI.
